Juan Martin on UK Tour

I first met Juan Martin in 2001 when he was looking for a woodwind player for his new group. With a lot of western music you are provided with a set of parts and expected to franticly read through them with adrenaline as your only ally. This meeting was quite different. Juan was very interested in jazz and improvisation and thankfully it was only sometime later that I found out that he’d not only met but also played with Miles Davis.
Rather than printed music I was presented with 6 CD’s, a video and a wish that I learn all the material they contained. The last seven years have included my most enjoyable musical years and working with Juan and the ensemble is always an immense honour and indescribable pleasure. The new tour features Juan Martin (guitar), El Tigre (dance), Paul Fawcus (woodwinds), Chris Karan (percussion) and Manuel Ramirez Jimenez (vocals & guitar).
