BBC big Band & Clare Teal - Grassington Festival

Yorkshire’s finest export after Betty’s tea room was the star attraction at Grassington’s annual music festival .
Clare Teal who was voted BBC Jazz Vocalist of the year 2006 and British Jazz Vocalist of the year 2005 & 2007 presented a whole program featuring music from her new album “Get Happy”. The album is a gem for all jazz fans featuring may well known classics such as Cheek To Cheek, Begin The Beguine and Time After Time. For those of you who are unfamiliar with her work Clare is also the regular presenter for BBC Radio 2’s Big Band Special (Monday night on Radio 2 22:00 - 22:30 ) as well as writing a column for the Yorkshire Post.

Following the 2004 album release, Don’t Talk, for Sony’s Jazz label Sir Michael Parkinson promoted Clare via both his radio and television shows. Several awards followed and now Clare is an established star in her own right.
We often hear Clare with the big band supporting other artists and so it was a real treat to hear her stretch out with the full and mighty roar of one of the finest big bands in the world.

Jazzmouse’s Paul Fawcus was the live FOH engineer for this event via the bands new management from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Special Projects department.
Andy Hardy from Truesounds provided the PA equipment which featured the two of Yamaha’s M7-CL mixing consoles. Paul has used both the Yamaha PM-5D and M7-CL desks with the BBC Big Band and loves the flexibility that they provide.

Clare’s album Get Happy is available from her website http://www.clareteal.co.uk/ and from all good music stores.
