It's not all doom & gloom!

With Christmas firmly behind us and a ‘credit crunch’ on the way I was very surprised to have a full diary for the new year. Most of my efforts had been concentrated upon Christian Billett’s vocal album “With a Song in my Heart” in December and was very grateful to see the work coming in.
Chris Dean had booked to make a new vocal album in December and we started on that in early January. I had also gained some new contacts via Business in Berkshire and the first project to reach fruition was a series of self-hypnosis recordings for Stephen Bishop. I have now made nine of these recordings with Steve and we will have them on sale soon in the Jazzmouse web-shop. I also began a new vocal album with Eleanor Keenan featuring two of the UK’s piano legends Phil Phillips (Barrymore, Marti Caine & Leo Sayer) and Trevor Brown (Stars in their eyes, Royal Variety Show, Cilla Black). In February I undertook a UK tour with Juan Martin and his Flamenco ensemble as well as various dates with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and the BBC big Band. I was asked, by composer Will Todd, to produce several sessions at Eastcote Studios in London as well during this busy month. In March I was in Dublin and Basingstoke as FOH Engineer for two concerts for Raymond Gubbay Ltd. These lovely orchestral events were a celebration of musical theatre and featured Mike Sterling, Alasdair Harvery, Debbie Myers & Sally Ann-Triplet. A new classical guitar album for David Jaggs is well on the way and will also be available from the web-shop soon. The final project for this period was the recording and mixing of the ‘Allan Ganley Legacy’ album. I have been working with music industry legend Keith Mansfield to produce this exceptional album for Allan’s family. With a ‘who’s who’ of British jazz & big band artists including Mark Nightingale, Mike smith, John Horler, Alan Barnes, Malcom Creese and Tony Fisher this is going to be a real treat. Look out for more details on all of these projects in future news letters.
