Paul Fawcus – Producer, Composer, Recording Engineer, and Musician
Jazzmouse MD Paul Fawcus has had another busy month. He has just finished producing the first solo album for Amanda Watsham, due for release in 2008. He has also been working on various other projects in the capacity of composer, engineer, and musician. Let’s take a closer look… Composer As a composer, Paul has recently completed a new work with international flamenco artist Juan Martin. The three movement concerto, entitled ‘Concierto de la Luz’ (Concerto of Light) was performed by Juan and the Concerto de Malaga orchestra in Kirkrade, Holland, on the 18th November. Engineer Once again Jazzmouse has been very happy to support the BBC Big band for Radio 2 with concerts at the £35 million refitted Birmingham Town Hall. The series of concerts was opened with a huge spectacle - a performance of Quincy Jones’ version of Handel’s Messiah called ‘A Soulful celebration’. The BBC big band were joined by the Black voices of Birmingham, Reggae Philharmonic strings, Birmingham town hall Gospel Choir and featured guest stars Ruby Turner, Cleveland Watkiss and saxophonist Soweto Kinch. Paul was particularly delighted to be able to engineer for vocal legend and Grammy nominated Kurt Elling (http://www.kurtelling.com/news/). Musician Paul is back in the studio with Jackie Trent to perform more woodwind solos on her latest recording project. Paul can also be seen playing at the Theatre Royal Windsor with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra on Tuesday December 12th and Fairfield Halls, Croydon on December 13th. www.jazzmouse.co.uk
